Hobgoblins is a 1988 horror comedy film directed by Rick Sloane and produced by Charles Band. The film follows the story of a group of hobgoblins, mythical creatures who can enter people's fantasies and make them come true, but in exchange, they kill their victims in the process.

The hobgoblins are discovered by Kevin, a young security guard working for an old-fashioned B-movie studio. Kevin and his friends are warned by a former studio employee about the dangers of the hobgoblins and are told not to unleash them from the vault.

Ignoring the employee's warnings, Kevin and his friends break into the vault and unknowingly release the hobgoblins. Each hobgoblin has the power to grant a person's deepest desires, but at the cost of their life.

As the night progresses, the hobgoblins begin killing people and causing chaos around the studio. Kevin and his friends must find a way to stop the hobgoblins and prevent them from spreading throughout the city before the sun rises.

The movie has become a cult classic for its low-budget special effects and tongue-in-cheek humor. Despite being critically panned upon its release, the film has gained a devoted fan base over the years.
