Hippopotamus is a psychological thriller film released in 2018. The movie is directed by Edward A. Palmer and stars Ingvild Deila and Tom Lincoln.

The film opens with Ruby, a struggling novelist, waking up in a basement with her legs broken. She has no idea how she got there or who her captor is. Tom, a charming young man, claims to be her captor and tells her that he won't let her go until she falls in love with him.

At first, Ruby is reluctant and tries to escape. However, Tom is always one step ahead of her and foils her escape attempts. As days pass, Tom starts helping Ruby remember her past and identity. He even brings her a typewriter to help her work on her novel.

As Ruby starts piecing together her memory, she begins to realize that things may not be as they seem. Tom seems to know so much about her and her life, but how? She also starts to wonder if Tom is really as dangerous as he seems, or if he is just a lonely guy looking for love.

The film keeps the audience guessing until the very end. Ingvild Deila delivers a powerful performance as Ruby, a strong-willed woman who is determined to get out of her situation. Tom Lincoln is equally impressive as the suave and unpredictable Tom.

Hippopotamus is a gripping thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. It explores themes of memory, identity, and obsession, making it a must-watch for fans of psychological thrillers.
