Highlander 2: The Quickening is a science-fiction action film that was released in 1991 and is a sequel to the original film Highlander. The movie is set in the year 2025, where the ozone layer has been depleted, and the human race is left vulnerable to the harmful effects of the sun's UV rays. The story centers around two immortal beings, Connor MacLeod (Christopher Lambert) and Juan Ramirez (Sean Connery), who are from the planet Ziest, which has been destroyed, and are now living on Earth.

MacLeod and Ramirez realize that the plan is being orchestrated by the oppressive corporation known as the Shield Corporation.
As they try to thwart the plan, they are met with opposition from the planet Ziest's leaders, who consider MacLeod and Ramirez to be traitors and want them dead. The film also features flashbacks to Ziest's past, which reveal the reasons for MacLeod and Ramirez's exile from their planet.
