Highland Park is a comedy-drama film that follows a group of high school faculty members in the titular city who are facing the possibility of losing their jobs due to budget cuts. In an effort to boost morale and potentially turn their fortunes around, they come together to form a lotto pool and play the same numbers they've been using for the past decade.
As the film progresses, we see the characters deal with the uncertainty of their future as the lottery drawing draws near. Along the way, they confront personal struggles and relationships that have been strained by their collective stress.
The ensemble cast includes Billy Burke as Coach Stanton, Parker Posey as math teacher Shirley, Danny Glover as principal Gerald, and several other familiar faces. The film was directed by Andrew Meieran, and while it received mixed reviews, it was praised for its heartfelt portrayal of working-class struggle and the bonds that unite us in difficult times.
