The movie High Road to China was released in 1983 and stars Tom Selleck as the biplane pilot, O'Malley, and Bess Armstrong as Eve, the spoiled industrialist's daughter. Eve's father, Bradley Tozer, has gone missing in Asia while searching for a legendary treasure, the Eye of the Dragon.
Eve hires O'Malley to fly her to different locations in Asia in search of her father, but their journey is not easy. They have to deal with a variety of obstacles, including corrupt officials, hostile tribes, and dangerous weather conditions.
As they progress on their journey, they learn to trust and rely on each other. Eventually, they discover that Tozer is being held captive by a Chinese warlord named Suleiman Khan. O'Malley and Eve must devise a plan to rescue him and retrieve the Eye of the Dragon.
The movie is a classic adventure story with plenty of action and humor. It was praised for Selleck's leading performance as well as its exotic locations and stunning aerial sequences.
