High Risk is a 1995 Hong Kong action-comedy film directed by Wong Jing and starring Jet Li, Jacky Cheung, and Chingmy Yau. The film follows Kit Li, a former bodyguard haunted by the death of his wife at the hands of the criminal mastermind known only as "The Doctor". Kit is now working as a bodyguard and stuntman for the cowardly action star Frankie Lane, who is more focused on maintaining his public image than on honing his martial arts skills.
When the two men attend an exhibition of the crown jewels of Russia at a Hong Kong hotel, they find themselves in the middle of a dangerous game of cat and mouse between The Doctor's gang and the local police department. The gang has taken over the building in an attempt to steal the jewels, and Kit is the only thing standing in their way.
Despite his initial fear and reluctance, Frankie finds his courage in the face of danger and begins to assist Kit in fighting off the gang members. Along the way, Kit also develops a potential romantic connection with a nosy reporter who is covering the incident.
As the action heats up and the stakes get higher, Kit and Frankie must use their best kung fu skills to fend off the dangerous gang members and prevent them from getting away with the priceless crown jewels. The film features several exciting fight scenes, as well as plenty of comedic moments and a fun, light-hearted tone overall.
