Perilous Sleepwalking on Building Ledge

Comedy  United States of America

High and Dizzy is a 1920 silent comedy film directed by Hal Roach and starring Harold Lloyd. The main character, Harold (played by Lloyd), is a young doctor who becomes tipsy after having a bit too much to drink one night. While stumbling home, he comes across his patient, a rich young woman who is sleepwalking on a ledge high above the street.

Harold frantically tries to save her, but he is also struggling to maintain his balance due to his intoxication. He falls off the ledge himself, only to be saved by a passing window washer who catches him by the seat of his pants.

The rest of the film follows Harold's misadventures as he tries to keep his drunk state a secret from his boss and the patient's family. He also tries to win the affections of his patient, who is engaged to a wealthy man.

The film is notable for its daring stunts, particularly Lloyd's dangerous climb up and down the building's ledge. It was a box office success and helped establish Lloyd as a major comedic actor in Hollywood.
