Hick is a coming-of-age indie film directed by Derick Martini and based on the novel of the same name by Andrea Portes. The movie follows the story of Luli McMullen, a thirteen-year-old girl from Nebraska who runs away from home after her parents' neglectful behavior pushes her over the edge. She decides to hitchhike her way to Las Vegas and start a new life for herself.
Along the way, Luli meets a variety of colorful characters, including Eddie Kreezer, a charming cowboy with a dark side played by Eddie Redmayne, and Glenda, a cocaine-addicted drifter played by Blake Lively. The two adults take Luli under their wing, offering her a glimpse into their hedonistic and chaotic lives.
As they continue on their journey, the trio runs into various complications and dangerous situations that test their relationships and put their lives at risk.
