Hawks Ridge tells the story of Pastor David Gilliam, a charismatic African-American man of great faith who tragically loses his wife to a senseless act of violence. Consumed by anger and grief, David turns away from his ministry, leaving his small Appalachian community without spiritual guidance.
Meanwhile, a young white man named Jake Faulkner, struggling with alcoholism and depression, makes a terrible mistake. In a moment of drunken rage, he drives his car into a ditch, killing David's wife in the process. Overwhelmed with guilt, Jake spirals out of control, eventually attempting suicide.
But fate intervenes when David, unable to let go of his anger, tracks Jake down in the hospital and attempts to take revenge on him. However, something unexpected happens when David sees the broken, vulnerable man before him. He realizes that his anger is not helping him heal and decides to take a different path.
David reaches out to Jake, offering forgiveness and a chance to make amends by taking on some of the tasks he has been neglecting during his period of grieving. Through a series of challenges and acts of service, David and Jake slowly begin to build a relationship based on mutual respect and understanding.
Against all odds, David's healing journey leads him to great inner peace. The film ends on a note of powerful redemption as Jake finds the strength to face his past and make a fresh start with the help of David's forgiveness.
