Haunter is a supernatural thriller directed by Vincenzo Natali and released in 2013. The movie follows the story of Lisa Johnson, a 15-year old girl who lives with her family in a suburban house. Lisa wakes up every day to the same day, and though everything seems normal at first, she soon realizes that something is not right. Her house, family, and town are all stuck in a time loop, and Lisa is the only one who realizes this.
Lisa soon understands that she is dead and has been stuck in this time loop since her death. She is determined to uncover the mystery surrounding her death and free herself and her family from the endless loop. However, her actions have consequences, and she soon realizes that changing events in the past can lead to unforeseen and dire consequences in the present.
Lisa starts to communicate with a ghost who communicates with her through various means, including writing on the walls or leaving clues for Lisa to follow. With the help of the ghost, Lisa gradually pieces together the truth about her death and the sinister force behind the time loop that is keeping her and her family trapped.
Haunter presents an interesting take on the time loop concept and includes several twists and turns that keep the audience engaged until the end. The film features a strong performance from Abigail Breslin, who plays Lisa, and a haunting soundtrack that adds to the creepy ambiance.
