Hard Luck is a 2006 crime drama film directed by Mario Van Peebles. The movie follows three inter-related stories that are intertwined. The first story is about Lucky (Wesley Snipes), a former drug dealer who is trying to start a new life. Lucky is released from prison after serving six years behind bars and is determined to stay clean and go straight. However, his plans are derailed when he stumbles upon a stash of stolen drugs. Lucky finds himself in a difficult situation and is forced to confront his past actions.
The second story is about a serial killer who is on the loose in the city. The police are on the hunt for the killer who seems to be targeting young women. Detective Billy "Mack" McDonald (Mario Van Peebles) is leading the investigation and is determined to catch the killer before he strikes again.
The third story is about a middle-aged suburban housewife named Cass (Jacqueline Torres). Cass appears to be a loving wife and mother, but she has a dark side. Cass has a sadistic and vicious streak that she keeps hidden from her family and friends. She becomes involved with Lucky and the stolen drugs, which leads to a dangerous and deadly game of cat and mouse.
As the three storylines converge, the characters find themselves caught in a web of violence, betrayal, and revenge. Hard Luck is a gritty and intense movie that explores the dark side of human nature.
