Happy Birthday centers around a group of strangers who converge at a luxurious hotel to celebrate their birthdays. Among them are a wealthy CEO (played by Jennifer Lawrence), a struggling artist (played by Timothee Chalamet), a retired army veteran (played by Denzel Washington), and a free-spirited daredevil (played by Emma Stone).
As they begin to celebrate, news breaks that a new law has been passed allowing citizens to carry firearms. The group becomes increasingly on edge, with each member revealing their true motives for being at the hotel. Some are there to party, while others have darker intentions.
As the night wears on, chaos ensues when one member of the group pulls out a gun and begins a standoff. The rest of the group must band together to survive the night, while also confronting their own demons and hidden motivations.
