Happiness for Beginners follows the journey of Amy, a recently divorced school teacher who is struggling to find direction and purpose in her life. In an effort to shake things up, she decides to join a group of hikers and embark on a challenging trek through the wilderness.
The group is led by a rugged and charismatic guide named Jeff, who is an experienced outdoorsman and seems to have a special connection with nature. Despite their initial clashes and differing personalities, Amy and Jeff begin to develop an unexpected bond as they navigate the rugged terrain and face their own personal demons.
Along the way, Amy encounters a variety of colorful characters including a quirky photographer and a group of free-spirited hippies who challenge her conventional ideas about life and love. As she struggles to keep up with the physical demands of the hike and confronts her own emotional baggage, Amy begins to realize that the journey may be more about finding herself than reaching the destination.
As the group nears the end of the trek, Amy must decide whether to continue on her own path or take a chance on a new relationship with Jeff. Will she find the happiness and fulfillment she is searching for, or will the journey end in heartbreak and disappointment?
