Halo: Legends is an animated anthology film consisting of seven short films set in the Halo universe. The film was produced by 343 Industries, the developer of the Halo games, in collaboration with some of Japan's top anime directors and studios. Each short film tells a different story set in the Halo universe and explores various aspects of its lore and mythology.

The film opens with "The Babysitter," directed by Toshiyuki Kanno, which follows a group of ODST soldiers on a mission to assassinate a Covenant general. This is followed by "The Duel," directed by Hiroshi Yamazaki, which tells the story of an ancient Spartan warrior who challenges an Elite to a one-on-one duel. Next up is "The Package," directed by Shinji Aramaki, which sees a team of Spartans on a mission to retrieve a valuable package from a heavily guarded Covenant ship.

"The Origins" is the fourth film in the anthology and is directed by Hideki Futamura. It explores the Forerunner civilization and their role in the creation of the Halo rings. "Homecoming," directed by Koji Sawai, is a more personal story about a Spartan who returns to her home planet to confront her past. "Odd One Out," directed by Daisuke Nishio, is a comedic take on the Halo universe, featuring a group of characters who find themselves stranded on a strange planet and must fight to survive.

The final film in the anthology is "Prototype," directed by Yasushi Muraki, which tells the story of a new type of Spartan soldier who is sent on a mission to destroy a prototype weapon created by the Covenant. Overall, Halo: Legends offers an engaging and varied look at the Halo universe, exploring its many facets through the lens of some of Japan's most talented anime creators.
