In the beginning of Halloween II, Laurie Strode is found wandering around the streets of Haddonfield, bloody and traumatized after her encounter with Michael Myers. She is admitted to the hospital where she is tended to by Dr. Sam Loomis, the only person who truly understands the danger Michael poses.
As Laurie recovers, Michael continues his killing spree, targeting hospital staff and patients as he makes his way to Laurie. Loomis and the police department work tirelessly to track him down and stop him before he can reach Laurie.
As the night wears on, Laurie starts to have flashbacks and visions of her mother, who was killed by Michael when Laurie was a young child. These visions, along with the constant fear of Michael's presence, push Laurie to the brink of madness.
Eventually, Laurie and Michael come face to face again in the hospital's operating room. After a tense showdown, Laurie manages to fend off Michael and Loomis shoots him multiple times, causing Michael to fall out of a window.
As the film ends, it is revealed that Michael's body is missing, leaving the possibility open for him to return yet again.
