In the movie Gulliver's Travels, Lemuel Gulliver (played by Jack Black) is a lowly mailroom clerk working at a newspaper in New York City who dreams of becoming a travel writer. He finally gets his chance when he is assigned to write a story on the Bermuda Triangle.
After a violent storm, Gulliver is washed up on the shore of the mysterious island of Liliput, where he is discovered by the miniature inhabitants. At first, they are frightened by his size and imprison him, but Gulliver wins their trust by exhibiting his peaceful nature.
As Gulliver tries to understand this strange new world and its customs, he becomes a hero to the residents of Liliput by using his size to fight their enemies and protect their kingdom.
