Richie and Eddie are desperate to keep their failing hotel afloat, and with the departure of their chef and guests, they are struggling to make ends meet. However, their luck changes when the beautiful and famous Italian filmstar, Gina Carbonara, arrives at the hotel seeking refuge from her controlling fiance.
Richie and Eddie, both smitten with Gina, do everything they can to impress her and keep her at the hotel. However, their attempts to curry favour with the star only result in chaos and disaster. From a disastrous attempt at cooking her a meal to a disastrous attempt at seducing her, everything seems to go wrong whenever Richie and Eddie are involved.
As the chaos unfolds, the situation is further complicated by the arrival of a group of energy company executives, who are inspecting the nearby nuclear power plant. As tensions rise between the guests and the hotel staff, it becomes clear that something has to give.
In the end, Richie and Eddie's clumsy attempts to impress Gina culminate in a spectacular finale, involving a giant wheel of cheese, a helicopter, and a lot of explosives. The film ends with the hotel in ruins, but Richie and Eddie content in the knowledge that they have, at least, entertained their guests.
