Grumpy Old Santa centers around Nic, a former Santa Claus who now spends his time fishing and bowling. Nic is heartbroken after his wife leaves him, and he finds solace in the company of his best friend's sister, who he secretly starts dating. However, things become complicated when Nic's best friend, Pastor Kris, finds out about the relationship and tries to prevent it from continuing.
As Nic navigates the complexities of his new relationship, he also struggles to cope with the challenges of being a single parent to his grown children. Meanwhile, his rival from high school, Spike, continues to taunt him at every opportunity.
