Renegade Youth: The Mansion Mayhem

Comedy  United States of America

Growing Pains is a 1992 American comedy-drama film directed by John G. Avildsen. The movie follows the story of four teens who are living in an orphanage, tired of abusive treatment from their caretakers. The group, consisting of three boys and a girl, decides to run away from the orphanage to escape their troubles.

As they are on the run, they learn that one of their fellow orphans, who was recently adopted by a rich family, is living nearby. The group decides to visit their friend and reconnect with him. However, their reunion is short-lived as they soon discover that their friend is unhappy in his privileged life and wants to join them in their adventure.

The group then hatches a plan to sneak into the mansion of their friend's adoptive parents, cause chaos and destruction, and run away with a lot of money. The plan goes awry, and the group ends up trashing the entire house, including the expensive furniture, paintings, and sculptures.

In the end, the four teens are caught by the police and sent back to the orphanage, where they are punished for their actions. But the group is content knowing that they have raised awareness about the terrible conditions at the orphanage, leading to reforms and better treatment for the children in need.

The movie has a star-studded cast, including Wil Wheaton, Chris Young, Tracey Gold, and Vincent Schiavelli. The film was not a commercial success but was appreciated by critics for its portrayal of the harsh realities of life in an orphanage.
