The grad student in question is named Meg (Nicole Dambro), a psychology student who sets out to prove her theory that homosexuality is not a choice but rather an innate trait. She devises an experiment where she pairs two homophobic bullies, Brad (Cameron Duckett) and Dylan (Jesse Pudles), together in a confined space and slowly manipulates their beliefs and attitudes towards homosexuality.
Meg lures the two boys to an empty swimming pool under the guise of a date with a fictitious girl. Once there, she reveals her true intentions and drugs them before tying them up and locking them in the pool. Meg has a series of cameras and microphones set up to record the experiment, which she hopes to use as the basis for her thesis.
Brad and Dylan are initially angry and resistant to Meg's experiments, but over time they begin to open up to each other and even question their own beliefs. As they grow closer, Meg's own agenda becomes more complicated and personal, and the experiment takes a dark turn.
The film is directed by Anderson Cowan and explores themes of identity, sexuality, and manipulation. It premiered at the 2019 Cinequest Film Festival and received generally positive reviews.
