Greenberg is a 2010 comedy-drama film directed by Noah Baumbach and starring Ben Stiller as the titular character, Roger Greenberg, a forty-something carpenter and failed musician who has left New York and come to Los Angeles to house-sit for his more successful and married brother, Phillip, while he and his family are on vacation.
Greenberg, who is recovering from a nervous breakdown and is recently separated from his longtime girlfriend, spends his days doing odd jobs around the house, writing complaint letters to various corporations, and reconnecting with old acquaintances.
He meets his brother's personal assistant, Florence (Greta Gerwig), a young and somewhat aimless woman who has aspirations of becoming a singer/songwriter. They start an unconventional romantic relationship despite the fact that Roger is hesitant to commit to anything.
As the movie progresses, their relationship becomes deeper, and they try to navigate the difficulties of their age gap and their different goals in life.
