Green Lantern: Emerald Knights is an animated superhero film that was released in 2011. The movie features Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern, as he begins preparing his newest recruit, Arisia, for an impending battle with an ancient enemy. As part of her training, Hal shares with her several stories of the Green Lantern Corps and some of their previous battles.
The film is made up of several shorter segments, each featuring stories of different members of the Green Lantern Corps. The first story is about Abin Sur, the Green Lantern who originally found Hal Jordan and passed on his ring and title to him. The story shows Abin Sur's final battle with the monster named Atrocitus and his discovery of the prophecy of the Blackest Night.
The second story is about Kilowog, a member of the Corps who is tasked with training new Lantern recruits. Kilowog overcomes his own doubts about his abilities as he helps a new recruit, Arisia, to harness her own powers.
The third story follows Laira, a Green Lantern who struggles to connect with her own people. She ultimately confronts her own prejudices and learns to embrace diversity as a source of strength.
The fourth story centers around Mogo, a planet that is also a member of the Corps and has its own unique abilities. The Green Lanterns must work together to save Mogo from destruction by an invading army.
Finally, the movie returns to Hal Jordan and Arisia as they face the ultimate battle against the ancient enemy that threatens their home planet. The Green Lantern Corps must use all of their knowledge and skills to defeat the enemy and save the universe.
Green Lantern: Emerald Knights features an all-star voice cast, including Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan and Elisabeth Moss as Arisia. The film was directed by Lauren Montgomery and Jay Oliva, with a screenplay by Alan Burnett.
