Graffiti Bridge is a 1990 musical drama film directed by and starring Prince, in which he reprises his role as The Kid from the 1984 film Purple Rain. The film takes place in The Kid's nightclub, where he must compete with Morris Day and the Time for control of the music scene. Meanwhile, The Kid falls in love with Aura, a talented singer and dancer.
The film features several musical performances, including songs from the Graffiti Bridge soundtrack, which was released simultaneously with the film. The soundtrack features several collaborations with The New Power Generation, as well as contributions from George Clinton, Mavis Staples, and Tevin Campbell.
Despite its star-studded cast and musical numbers, Graffiti Bridge received mixed reviews from critics and was a commercial disappointment. However, it has since gained a cult following among Prince's fans, who appreciate the film's energetic performances and catchy soundtrack.
