Gozu is a Japanese horror-comedy film directed by Takashi Miike and released in 2003. The movie follows Minami, a Yakuza member who is tasked with disposing of his gang's mentally unstable "aniki" (big brother) named Brother. However, things take a bizarre turn when Minami accidentally kills Brother during a heated argument.

The body of Brother disappears, leaving Minami to embark on a surreal and haunting search for his missing boss. His search brings him to a small, isolated hotel where he meets a series of strange and eccentric characters, including a cross-dressing woman who may or may not be his missing boss.

As Minami becomes more and more entangled in the hotel's strange and hallucinatory world, he begins to question his own sanity. The movie merges elements of horror and comedy, featuring surreal and often disturbing imagery that leaves the viewer unsettled.

Gozu has been praised for its unique and unconventional take on horror, as well as its exploration of themes such as masculinity, identity, and the nature of reality. It has become known as one of director Takashi Miike's most memorable and polarizing films, with audiences either loving or hating its bizarre and truly outlandish premise.
