Golden Earrings is a 1947 romantic adventure film directed by Mitchell Leisen and starring Ray Milland and Marlene Dietrich. The movie is set during World War II and revolves around a British colonel named Ralph Denistoun (played by Milland) who is captured by the Gestapo while on a secret mission in Germany. He manages to escape and runs into a gypsy woman named Lydia (played by Dietrich) who agrees to help him.
In order to evade the Gestapo, Denistoun disguises himself as a gypsy and poses as Lydia's husband. They both travel to the Black Forest, where they encounter various obstacles and dangers, including an encounter with a group of Nazis. Along the way, Denistoun and Lydia begin to develop feelings for each other, but their romance is complicated by their different backgrounds and the ongoing war.
As they continue their journey, Denistoun discovers that Lydia has a dark secret from her past and that her life is in danger. He must risk his own life to protect her and help her find a way to escape Germany.
