After the events of the previous Godzilla film, scientist Dr. Shiragami grieves the loss of his daughter who was killed in an attack by Godzilla. He decides to combine the DNA of different plants including roses with that of Godzilla's cells to create a new form of life. The result of his experiment is Biollante, a plant-like creature with immense strength and destructive powers.
Meanwhile, the Japanese government is struggling to come up with a plan to deal with the looming threat of Godzilla who has returned and is wreaking havoc once again. They come across the discovery of Biollante and believe that this new creature may be the key to defeating Godzilla.
As the two monsters clash, it becomes apparent that Godzilla may have met his match. Biollante proves to be a formidable foe, but at what cost? Will the government be able to control this new creature before it causes even more damage?
