In Godzilla 1985, a dormant Godzilla is awakened by a volcanic eruption and sets its sights on Tokyo. The government and military struggle to come up with a plan to defeat the monster, eventually turning to a scientist who believes the key to stopping Godzilla lies in understanding its biology and behavior.
