In the movie God's Not Dead: A Light in Darkness, Pastor Dave's church is located on the grounds of Hadleigh University. After the church is burned down, the university board, led by Thomas Ellsworth, files a lawsuit against Pastor Dave to have the land the church was on. The conflict between the church and the university begins to divide the community and tensions rise.
As Pastor Dave struggles with his faith and the loss of his church, he turns to his estranged brother Pearce for help. Pearce, who is an atheist and a lawyer, agrees to represent Pastor Dave in the lawsuit.
As the legal battle unfolds, both Pastor Dave and Thomas Ellsworth realize that they must put aside their differences and work towards reconciliation for the sake of the community.
Through the hardships and challenges they face, both Pastor Dave and Pearce come to a better understanding of each other's beliefs and ultimately learn to love and respect each other as brothers.
The film is a powerful reminder that even in the midst of tragedy and division, hope and forgiveness can prevail, and that God's love and light can shine through even the darkest of times.
