The movie God follows the events surrounding Pope Francis' visit to Chile in 2018. As the Pope travels through the country, he is met with both adoring crowds of faithful Catholics and angry protestors calling for social justice and reform. Meanwhile, a group of survivors of sexual abuse by Catholic priests confront the Church's role in covering up their trauma. The film explores the complex relationship between faith, power, and social justice in contemporary Chile, as well as the challenges facing the Catholic Church as it grapples with its own history of abuse and corruption. Through interviews with activists, survivors, and members of the clergy, God examines the struggles of a divided country searching for healing and redemption.
