Girl Wired is a drama film that tells the story of a 12-year-old girl named Dakota Myers, who has a high IQ and impressive skills in computer programming. Dakota lives with her grandfather, a Vietnam veteran suffering from PTSD, in a small town in Oregon.
One day, Dakota discovers that her grandfather has taken out a large debt with a group of mobsters after falling for a loan scam. Dakota is determined to help her grandfather and turns to her exceptional skills to solve the problem. When she receives a scholarship offer to attend a graduate-level research program in Seattle, she sees it as an opportunity to make the money needed to pay off her grandfather's debts.
With her grandfather's blessing, Dakota accepts the offer and travels to Seattle, where she begins her research in robotics. However, Dakota soon realizes that her work with artificial intelligence could be valuable to the shady organization her grandfather owes money to.
As Dakota's research progresses, she finds herself caught up in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with the mobsters, who are determined to get their money back one way or another.
With the help of her new friends, including fellow researcher Katie and her mentor Dr. Campbell, Dakota must use her genius-level intellect and intuition to stay one step ahead of the mobsters, protect her family, and complete her research before it's too late.
