Drama  United States of America

Gimme Shelter is a 2013 drama film directed by Ron Krauss. The film follows the life of a teenage girl named Agnes "Apple" Bailey (played by Vanessa Hudgens), who decides to run away from her abusive mother, June (played by Rosario Dawson), and seek refuge with her estranged father, Tom Fitzpatrick (played by Brendan Fraser). Apple's father had abandoned her and her mother when she was born and didn't know about Apple's existence until she showed up at his doorstep.

When Apple arrives at her father's mansion, she is initially welcomed by Tom's wife, Joanna (played by Stephanie Szostak), and their two children. However, things take a turn for the worse when Tom discovers that Apple is pregnant and refuses to accept her into their home. Torn and desperate, Apple eventually finds refuge in a shelter for pregnant teens.

At the shelter, Apple meets a caring and supportive chaplain named Father McCarthy (played by James Earl Jones) who helps her deal with her emotional trauma and prepares her for the challenges of motherhood. She also becomes friends with some of the other girls at the shelter, including Cassandra (played by Emily Meade), who gives her tips on how to survive in the tough environment.

As Apple prepares to give birth, she must confront her past and make difficult choices about her future. Gimme Shelter is an inspiring and heartfelt film about the power of faith, family, and redemption.
