Ghost Shark is a made-for-TV horror movie directed by Griff Furst and released by Syfy in 2013. The film follows the story of a seaside community called Harmony, which is terrorized by a vengeful ghost shark, who haunts both land and sea. The film stars Mackenzie Rosman as Ava Conte, a ghost hunter who is called upon by Blaise Shaw (played by Richard Moll), a drunken sea captain, to help him hunt the ghost shark.
The movie begins with a party on July 4th, where a teenager named Christy Bruce disappears and her arm is later found washed ashore. Blaise Shaw becomes a hero after he kills a great white shark that was thought to have been responsible for the attack. However, Sharkologist Dr. Finch (Dave Davis) discovers that the arm was not bitten off by a shark but by something much more sinister. It is then revealed that the ghost shark is haunting the waters off of Harmony because of a curse placed on the town's founder, Mayor Stahl (played by Robert Aberdeen).
As more and more people fall victim to the ghost shark's wrath, Ava and Blaise team up to stop it. They are joined by Cameron (played by Sloane Coe) and Lacy (played by Jayme Bohn), two teenagers who are also trying to uncover the truth about Christy's disappearance. Together, they discover that the ghost shark is not just a myth, and that it can strike anywhere there is water, including swimming pools and water fountains.
The film is known for its cheesy dialogue, over-the-top gore, and ridiculous premise, but it has gained a cult following among fans of B-movie horror. It was also followed by a sequel, Ghost Shark 2: Urban Jaws, which was released in 2015.
