After Elliot's accident, he finds himself in a ghost-like state where he can only communicate with his children and a psychic who can see and hear him. He quickly learns that his family is in danger of losing their home and that his boss is planning to take advantage of their financial struggles.
Elliot's mission as a ghost is to finish the deal his boss had assigned him and to protect his family from harm. With the help of his children and the psychic, he tries to steer his boss away from making the deal and instead, suggests a more environmentally friendly project. All the while, he must find a way to communicate with his family so that they know he is with them.
As Elliot navigates his ghostly form, he faces several challenges, including dealing with a poltergeist who tries to ruin his plans and figuring out how to protect his family from the looming danger.
In the end, Elliot successfully finishes the deal while also protecting his family from harm. He learns to let go of the guilt he had carried about his wife's death and finds comfort in knowing that he will always be with his family, even after death.
