Get Duked! (formerly known as Boyz in the Wood) is a 2019 British comedy film directed by Ninian Doff. The movie follows four city boys from Glasgow who embark on a Duke of Edinburgh expedition in the Scottish Highlands.
The four boys are sent on a challenge, which they believe to be a simple walk in the woods, but soon discover they are being hunted by a wealthy landowner and his gamekeeper. Along the way, they must navigate their own personal issues and the generational divide between themselves and the countryside residents.
As they journey deeper into the wilderness, they encounter a group of hip-hop loving farmers and take hallucinogenic rabbit shites, which send them on a surreal journey of self-discovery. The film is a satirical commentary on the divide between urban and rural communities, as well as the challenges and absurdities of growing up in modern-day Britain.
Get Duked! features an ensemble cast, including Eddie Izzard, James Cosmo, and Kevin Guthrie, as well as newcomer actors Rian Gordon, Lewis Gribben, and Viraj Juneja. The film premiered at the South by Southwest Festival in March 2019 to critical acclaim and has since gained a cult following for its irreverent humor and unique take on the coming-of-age genre.
