Stolen Story: Teen's Fantasy Idea Plagiarized

Action,Comedy,Thriller  United States of America

Gentlemen Broncos is a 2009 comedy film directed by Jared Hess. The film stars Michael Angarano as Benjamin Purvis, a homeschooled teenager who loves writing fantasy stories.

Benjamin attends a writers' convention where he takes a writing workshop from his favorite sci-fi author, Ronald Chevalier (played by Jemaine Clement). Benjamin submits his latest work, a novel called "Yeast Lords," to a writing contest hosted by Chevalier.

Unbeknownst to Benjamin, Chevalier steals the idea for "Yeast Lords" and turns it into his latest novel. When Benjamin discovers what has happened, he confronts Chevalier, who offers him a small sum of money in exchange for the rights to the story.

Meanwhile, Benjamin's friend Tabatha (Halley Feiffer) shows his novel at a film festival where it is turned into an insanely cheap movie by an independent filmmaker, Dusty (Mike White). The film turns out to be a hilariously bad adaptation of the story, much to Benjamin's embarrassment.

The film follows Benjamin's struggles to regain his dignity, reputation and story. In the process, he learns some valuable lessons about the creative process, the importance of perseverance and being true to oneself.

Overall, Gentlemen Broncos is a quirky and offbeat comedy that celebrates the imagination, creativity, and spirit of teenage writers. It also pokes fun at the world of publishing, fandom, and filmmaking in a uniquely hilarious way.
