Game of Thrones: Conquest & Rebellion is a two-part animated special produced by HBO that covers the history of Westeros leading up to the events of the main Game of Thrones series. The first part, titled "Valyria's Last Scion: House Targaryen", explores the rise of House Targaryen and the fall of its home city, Valyria, through the eyes of Aegon Targaryen and his sisters Rhaenys and Visenya.
The second part, titled "The Conquest: House Targaryen Unleashed", follows Aegon Targaryen's conquest of Westeros and the formation of the Seven Kingdoms, as well as the challenges he faced from the remaining regional lords who refused to submit to his rule. The special also covers the events of the Dance of the Dragons, the Targaryen civil war that erupted generations later.
Narrated by Harry Lloyd (who played Viserys Targaryen in the main series), the special is animated in a similar style to the "Histories & Lore" bonus features from previous Game of Thrones home video releases, using a mix of still images and motion graphics to present the various historical events. Many actors from the main series also lend their voices to the various characters who appear in the special.
