The first Futurama movie, Bender's Big Score, starts with the Planet Express crew celebrating their return from cancellation. However, they soon encounter a group of scam artists known as the "sprunging" who steal everything they own, including their ship. Meanwhile, Bender discovers that the scammers have implanted a virus in his system, which allows them to travel through time and steal valuable treasures from Earth's past.
As the scammers continue to exploit Bender's time travel abilities, they cause chaos by altering key historical events, such as giving tech to the ancient Egyptians, stealing George Washington's wooden teeth, and even causing Fry and Leela's romance to unravel. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew embarks on a mission to get their ship back and stop the scammers, but their efforts are continually hindered by their incompetence and Bender's reluctance to betray his new "friends."
As the scammers prepare to take over Earth entirely, the crew finally bands together to save the day. They confront the scammers in a final showdown by using their time traveling abilities against them and ultimately defeat them. However, they inadvertently trigger another time paradox that leaves them even more uncertain about the future.
Overall, Bender's Big Score blends the usual Futurama humor with a complex time-travel plot, showcasing the series' strengths in story composition and character development.
