After losing their jobs at Globodyne, Dick (played by Jim Carrey) and Jane (played by Téa Leoni) find themselves struggling to pay their bills and maintain their luxurious lifestyle. They begin to rob convenience stores to make ends meet and soon graduate to more elaborate heists, such as robbing homes and banks.
Despite their financial success, they begin to feel guilty about their crimes when they witness the negative impact it has on innocent people. They also begin to fear getting caught and face the consequences of their actions.
When they hear that their former boss, Jack McCallister (played by Alec Baldwin), was the one who orchestrated the downfall of Globodyne and caused their financial troubles, they decide to take revenge on him. They plan an elaborate heist to steal millions of dollars from McCallister in order to recoup their losses and expose him as a fraud.
Through their experiences, Dick and Jane learn the value of hard work and the importance of doing what is morally right. The movie is a comedy with a message about the consequences of greed and the dangers of getting involved in criminal activities.
