Wren, a high school senior, is excited to go to a Halloween party hosted by her crush, Aaron. However, she is disappointed when her mother tells her she has to take her little brother, Albert, trick-or-treating instead. Wren reluctantly agrees to take Albert with her, but when they arrive at the first house, Albert disappears.
Desperate to find him before her mother finds out, Wren enlists the help of her friends to search for him. As they search, they encounter a series of wild and humorous adventures, including a mishap with a stolen chicken, a run-in with a group of teen goths, and a chase with a psychotic convenience store clerk.
Meanwhile, Wren's best friend, April, is dealing with her own dilemma as she tries to win back her ex-boyfriend, Peng. As the night goes on, Wren begins to realize that there may be more to her relationship with Aaron than she thought.
In the end, Wren and her friends are reunited with Albert and make it back home before her mother finds out. Along the way, Wren has learned some valuable lessons about responsibility, love, and the importance of family.
