Full Metal Jacket is a 1987 war film directed by Stanley Kubrick. The film is divided into two parts, with the first part depicting the brutal and dehumanizing training of a platoon of U.S. Marines by the sadistic Gunnery Sergeant Hartman, played by R. Lee Ermey.
