The movie Front of the Class follows the life of Brad Cohen, a young boy who is diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome, a neurological disorder that causes involuntary movements and vocalizations. Despite being taunted by his classmates and teachers, Brad develops a positive attitude and a determination to succeed.
As he grows older, Brad continues to struggle with the symptoms of Tourette's but perseveres through high school and college. After graduating, he faces multiple rejections when trying to get a teaching job due to his condition. Finally, he is offered a position in an elementary school in Georgia. Brad becomes an outstanding teacher, beloved by his students and colleagues, but is still challenged by his condition.
Throughout the movie, Brad's story is interwoven with flashbacks to his childhood, showing the struggles he faced and how he eventually became a role model for others with Tourette's. The movie emphasizes the importance of education, perseverance, and self-determination, as well as the need for greater understanding and acceptance of those with disabilities.
