Janie is a young wife who discovers her husband, Tim, cheated on her with a stripper. In a heated confrontation, Janie accidentally kills Tim. Grief-stricken and desperate to fix her mistake, Tim's brother, Marcus, tells her about an ancient Aztec spell that can resurrect the dead. Marcus obtained the spell while living abroad in Mexico.
Janie is hesitant but ultimately agrees to perform the spell with Marcus' help. They perform the ritual in secret, and to their surprise, Tim returns from the dead. However, his resurrection is not the peaceful reunion Janie expected. Tim comes back to life with a newfound rage and thirst for revenge against not only Janie but anyone he believes has wronged him.
As Tim's vengeful acts escalate, Janie must take extreme measures to stop him and reverse the spell before it's too late. She is aided in her quest by Marcus and a mysterious Aztec history professor in search of the stolen spell. Their race against time leads them on a dangerous journey as they try to stop a resurrected Tim from causing havoc and destruction.
