Elke (played by Shauna O'Brien) is a carefree, free-spirited young woman who lives life on her own terms. She meets the Stillman family and is invited to stay with them in their beautiful Malibu home. The family consists of Richard Stillman, a successful businessman and his wife, Laura, a frustrated housewife. They have two children, Brian and Nikki, who are both struggling with their own personal conflicts.
As soon as Elke arrives, she quickly realizes that the family is not as happy as they appear to be. Richard is a workaholic who is distant from his wife and family. Laura, on the other hand, is sexually frustrated and finds herself attracted to Elke. Brian is a drug addict who is struggling with his sexuality, while Nikki is just discovering hers.
Elke becomes a confidante and advisor to the family members, helping them to overcome their emotional and sexual problems. She teaches them to embrace their own sexuality and to be honest with themselves and one another. Through her guidance, the family members learn to connect with each other on a deeper level and rediscover their love and passion for one another.
