In Freejack, the year is 2009 and technology has made it possible for the world's wealthy to cheat death by living on in the bodies of others. These "freejacks" are hunted by time-traveling bounty hunters who bring them to the future for the body swapping procedure.
One such freejack is race-car driver Alex Furlong (played by Emilio Estevez) who is about to die in a fiery crash in 1991. He is snatched by the hunters and brought to 2009 New York where he discovers that his body has been purchased by rich businessman, McCandless (played by Anthony Hopkins), who is dying from a terminal illness.
Furlong escapes from the hunters and teams up with a former lover, Julie Redlund (played by Rene Russo), and a rebel leader, Victor Vacendak (played by Mick Jagger), to avoid being captured and to find a way to get his body back and prevent McCandless from living on in it.
Throughout the movie, Furlong struggles to cope with the shock of being brought to the future and the knowledge that his body is not his own. He also faces many obstacles as he tries to evade the hunters and find a way back to his own time.
Freejack is a thrilling action-packed movie with a unique premise that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats until the very end.
