Free Guy is a 2021 science-fiction action-comedy film directed by Shawn Levy. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as Guy, a bank teller who discovers he is a non-playable character (NPC) in Free City, an open-world video game. He sets out to become the hero of his own story after he learns that he is living in a video game that is about to be shut down.
