Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare is a 1991 horror film directed by Rachel Talalay and written by Michael De Luca. It is the sixth installment of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise and features Robert Englund reprising his role as the infamous killer, Freddy Krueger.
The film takes place ten years after the events of the previous film, where Freddy has killed all the children in Springwood, Ohio, leaving the town devoid of its youth. The only survivor, John Doe, escapes the town and ends up in a shelter for troubled teens. Maggie Burroughs, a therapist at the shelter, is plagued by recurring nightmares involving Freddy Krueger and discovers that John has the same dreams.
As they investigate the cause of their shared nightmares, they find themselves being drawn back to the town of Springwood. They soon discover that Freddy has taken over the dream world and intends to use it to gain access to the real world. It is revealed that Maggie is actually Freddy's long-lost daughter, and she must confront him to put an end to his reign of terror once and for all.
