"Freaky" is a horror-comedy film directed by Christopher Landon and released in 2020. It stars Vince Vaughn as the deranged serial killer, known as the Blissfield Butcher, and Kathryn Newton as the teenage protagonist, Millie.
The film opens with the Blissfield Butcher lurking in the shadows, stalking his next victim. Millie, a shy and awkward high school student, is just trying to make it through her day alongside her two best friends, Nyla and Josh. When the Butcher chooses Millie as his next target, he attacks her with a mystical dagger that causes them to swap bodies.
From there, Millie must navigate life as a middle-aged man while also trying to convince her friends and family of her predicament before the Butcher, now in her body, wreaks havoc on their town. With the help of Nyla and Josh, Millie races against the clock to track down the mystical dagger and reverse the body swap before it becomes permanent.
"Freaky" received positive reviews for its fresh take on the body-swap genre and its blend of humor and horror. The film was a commercial success and has since developed a cult following.
