Comedy,Drama  United States of America

Freak Show is a 2017 comedy-drama film based on the novel of the same name by James St. James. The movie tells the story of Billy Bloom, a gender-bending teenager who is forced to move in with his conservative father after his outlandish behavior becomes too much for his mother to handle.

Billy is enrolled in a new high school that is ultra-conservative and largely populated by wealthy, privileged students who don't understand or accept his unique, non-conformist approach to life. He is subjected to bullying and ostracism from the student body, who see him as a freak because of his flamboyant clothing and makeup.

Despite the constant ridicule, Billy is determined to live his life on his own terms and make a difference in his new school. When homecoming queen nominations are announced, Billy decides to run for the title, hoping to make a statement about individuality and the importance of tolerance.

His campaign is met with hostility from the conservative students, but he gains the support of an unlikely ally, a jock named Flip, who admires Billy's courage and individuality. As he prepares for the homecoming competition, Billy faces numerous obstacles and setbacks, but remains determined to succeed and show the school that being different is not a weakness.

Freak Show is a powerful, uplifting film that celebrates diversity and the courage to be oneself, even in the face of hostility and indifference. The movie stars Alex Lawther as Billy Bloom, alongside Bette Midler, Abigail Breslin, and Laverne Cox.
