The movie follows the adventures of nerdy, yet loveable, Wendell Tvedt (played by Tim Robbins) and his fraternity brothers at the fictional "Delta Pi" fraternity as they head to Palm Springs on vacation. Wendell's father, a wealthy businessman with a penchant for meddling in his son's love life, offers up his luxurious condo and the use of a hot tub and jacuzzi for the week. However, there's a catch: he wants them to help Wendell find a girlfriend.
While lounging by the pool, the Delta Pi boys encounter two members of the rival "Alpha Omega" fraternity: horndogs Stork (Cameron Dye) and O.C. (Leigh McCloskey). Initially, the groups don't get along, but they eventually bond over their mutual love of partying and girls.
Wendell catches the eye of the beautiful but aloof Betty (Sheree J. Wilson), the "designated babe" who Stork and O.C. have set their sights on. The boys make a bet over who can hook up with Betty first, and hijinks ensue as they compete for her affections.
Along the way, the boys encounter a number of other colorful characters, including a horny older woman (Barbara Crampton) and a scheming hotel manager (Nita Talbot) who tries to kick them out of the condo.
