In the beginning of the film, we are introduced to Christina, a deformed and tormented young woman who works at her father's inn. Despite her father's disapproval, Christina falls in love with Hans, a young man who works as an assistant to a local scientist, Baron Frankenstein.
When Hans is framed for the murder of Christina's father, he is arrested, tried, and ultimately executed by guillotine. Devastated by his death and determined to seek revenge on those responsible, Christina drowns herself in a nearby lake.
